RE: Percutaneous Retroperitoneal Access

چکیده
Dear Sir, We read the article titled ‘Modified Retroperitoneal Access for Percutaneous Intervention after Pancreaticoduodenectomy’ by Uei Pua et al. (1) published in Korean J Radiol (2013;14:446-450) with a great interest. Therein, authors reported two cases which needed retroperitoneal access. They approached the retroperitoneal space by using anterior pararenal trajectory. This technique is useful for pancreaticoduodenectomy patients whose anterior approach is challenged by surrounding vital organs

Bilateral Trans-radial/ulnar Access for Percutaneous Recanalization of a Chronic Total Coronary Artery Occlusion using Antegrade Dissection and Re-entry
Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) for Chronic Total Occlusions (CTOs) necessitates dual arterial access to allow visualisation of the vessel both proximal and distal to the occlusion as well as the course of interventional collaterals. Potential access sites include bilateral femoral, combination of femoral and radial and bilateral radial arteries. Trans-ulnar access has been shown to be...
متن کاملModified Retroperitoneal Access for Percutaneous Intervention after Pancreaticoduodenectomy
Percutaneous access to the surgical bed after pancreaticoduodenectomy can be a challenge, due to the post-operative anatomy alteration. However, immediate complications, such as surgical bed abscess or suspected tumor recurrence, are often best accessed percutaneously, as open surgical or endoscopic approaches are often difficult, if not impossible. We, hereby, describe a safe approach that is ...

A 68-year-old patient with severe biliary pancreatitis developed extensive retroperitoneal necroses, with air collections, extending from the pancreatic compartment to the pelvis (●" Fig.1a,b). Percutaneous and transgastric drainage (twice each) did not resolve the solid calcified infected material (vancomycin-resistant enterococci, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Neisseria subflava, Haemophilus in...
متن کاملPercutaneous nephrolithotomy made easier: a practical guide, tips and tricks.
Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) plays an integral role in managing large renal stones. Establishing percutaneous renal access is the most crucial step in the procedure and requires a thorough understanding of renal, retroperitoneal and thoracic anatomy to minimize the risk of complications. Moreover, access to fluoroscopy and the proper equipment are critical to ensuring complete stone remo...
متن کاملPercutaneous transrenal retrieval of fractured nephrostomy tube under fluoroscopic guidance.
Percutaneous nephrostomy is a safe procedure, performed routinely by interventional radiologists, and has a low complication rate. We report an unusual case of a fractured nephrostomy tube, retained within the kidney, having its fractured end trapped within the healed retroperitoneal tract. The catheter was retrieved by snaring it, using a percutaneous access to the collecting system. We descri...
